Dear Fellow Mass. North Shore IMA Members,

Welcome to the 2010-2011 Fiscal year. We are looking forward to another exiting year of education and networking with our fellow Boston, Worcester and Mass. 123 chapter members.

The first meeting of the year was a huge success. It was held at the Danversport Yacht Club September 14th, 2010. Mother Nature cooperated and we had some great networking outdoors while watching a gorgeous sunset. Kerri Salls from Breakthrough Enterprise LLC was our presenter and talked about Jumpstarting Productivity. I hope we are all seeing some gains from her tips. Boston, Worcester, and Mass.128 IMA chapter members.

The second event being hosted by the North Shore Chapter is October 19, 2010 at Angelica's in Middleton. We are hosting Special Agent Christopher M. Magner of The Air Force Office of Special Investigations on the topic of "How the Military Investigates Fraud". This promises to be an enlightening and interesting evening.

Our chapter depends on each of us to participate in as many educational programs as we can, in order to garner great venues, attract engaging speakers and continue offering outstanding educational programs to our IMA members.

I challenge each of you to not only attend all our educational programs but to bring a friend, or find out who the person in charge of educational development at your company is and see if they will announce/post our meetings. It is up to each of us to be good ambassadors and differentiate ourselves so that people see the value IMA and our professional designations have brought us.

On the topic of growth I am committed to working with our local colleges to increase our membership. If anyone has contacts they could share or would like to come to one our local meetings and talk about your background and what the IMA means to you we would be delighted to work with you. I am eager to see our chapter grow and be successful.

Please do not hesitate to click on the contact us tab on our home page to contact any one of our 9 Board members. We look forward to your ideas for new programs and feedback on the programs you attend to make attending these meetings valueable and fruitful exercises. Our board is here to serve our chapter membership!

On behalf of the Mass. North Shore IMA Board of Directors, I wish you all the best for this Coming 2010-2011 IMA Fiscal Year.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline A. Valatka CFM, CMA, MBA
